Inside Katy Perry And John Mayer’s Split

As you might know Katy Perry and John Mayer have split once again, but what went wrong with the couple? They seemed to be on the same page during Super Bowl. Mayer even brought on Katy’s sharks as he guest hosted the Late Late Show. That said, according to E! they’re over for good.

A source told E! that Mayer simply wasn’t in love with Perry anymore, and that he outgrew the relationship. Although the break up previous to this one could have been blamed on Perry’s touring schedule this one had more to do with Mayer.

According to the source it was a “lack of emotional interest on his end.” That said, it doesn’t look like there’s any hurt feelings between the two, as a pal told the outlet that John “fell out of love with Perry but will always love her.” This is a bit of a different story from when the Inquisitr first reported on their split. According to Radar Online, the couple got together only because of convenience and when that ran out they decided to split.

“Katy and John reconnected once she had a break in her Prismatic World Tour. So, for those few months they had a great time, pretending that it would last — and of course it didn’t.”

On the other hand, a source also said it came down to Katy Perry’s trust issues too as well. “Katy can’t handle the trust issues she has when she’s so far away. So they’ve learned that it’s better to just take a break when they can’t be in the same place.”

Rumors of their reunion started to swirl when the two reconnected during a friend’s dinner party back in January. After that first spotting they had drinks with friends for a second time. At the time a source told E! “They seemed very comfortable together and kissed several times.”

All of that considered we’ve seen this back and forth from the couple twice before, and on worse terms. For some time it was rumored that one of their splits was due to Mayer’s infidelity.
