Catelynn Lowell & Tyler Baltierra Yearned For A Child After Carly’s Adoption

Catelynn Lowell and her fiancé, Tyler Baliterra, recently welcomed their second child. In a new interview, the Teen Mom OG pair spoke out about becoming parents for a second time, and dished on their relationship with their first daughter’s adoptive parents.

“We were just super excited and looking forward to it, because ever since Carly, we just always yearned so badly to be parents,” Lowell told Us Weekly on March 23.

“At first, we were both excited about it because, we’ve been wanting to be parents for so long, and we knew we weren’t ready at 16 and we felt more ready this time, and then, an hour later, for me, it was instant anxiety, panic attack because I’m like, ‘Wow, this is real and this is happening.'”

Catelynn Lowell welcomed daughter, Carly, in 2009, as cameras rolled for MTV’s 16 & Pregnant. On the show, she and Baltierra were seen choosing adoption for their first child after deeming themselves not ready to be parents. In addition to not having the finances needed to support a child, Catelynn Lowell and Baltierra also felt their home environments weren’t the best for raising a child.

Following the adoption, Catelynn Lowell and Baltierra continued to share their journey with MTV on Teen Mom, which also included Amber Portwood, Farrah Abraham, and Maci Bookout, all of whom chose to become parents to their first child at a young age.

Years later, the four girls returned for Teen Mom OG, which premiered last night.

As the Inquisitr reported, Lowell and Baltierra were said to be on the outs with Brandon and Teresa, who adopted Carly in 2009, but on Twitter, Lowell claimed that was not the case.

As Teen Mom OG continues to air, fans will see the “trials and tribulations with our relationship with Brandon and Teresa and trying to navigate our relationship and how we want to work together in this adoption and make it more open,” Lowell explained.

Although Catelynn Lowell did hint that there was some drama between herself and Carly’s adoptive parents, things appear to be better now, months after filming wrapped. In fact, the couple recently agreed to let Carly meet Lowell and Baltierra’s second child, Novalee Reign.
