He’s Back! Justin Bieber To Headline First Day Of Fusion Festival 2015 In UK

Justin Bieber has been announced as the headline artist on the first day of the three-day Fusion Festival in Birmingham, UK 2015.

The Canadian superstar will hit the stage for a full 60 minutes in Crofton Park, Birmingham on Friday, August 28.

In a statement on Tuesday, Bieber said, “”I love the UK and I’m really excited to be playing at Fusion this year.” He went on to add, “There are some great artists on the line-up so to be headlining the Friday night is a real honour,” Sky News reports.

Notably, the night before the singer tweeted, “I miss performing. Time to get back to that.)”

The Biebs also posted the tweet below some time after the announcement of his exclusive UK date.

He added, “Missed the stage. Time to get back to work.”

The 21-year-old’s appearance at the Fusion Festival will mark his first in the UK since 2013 during his Believe Tour.

Back then, the singer was late for some 02 Arena shows in London. He also experienced lightness of breath in one concert which required him to visit a hospital. As he emerged, he encountered aggressive paparazzi and a verbal spat ensued.

Bieber took to Twitter after the incident, explaining that it had been a “rough week” and he “let the paps get the best of me.”

Fast forward to now, the singer seems to found a way to deal with the pressures of his life and says he has a different outlook.

Other artists gracing the Fusion Festival stage the same day as the Biebs, include British rapper Tinie Tempah, who once performed live on Justin’s 2011 Christmas album single “Drummer Boy” that year for a TV special.

British band Rixton, who share a mutual manager with the “Where Are U Now” crooner are also on Friday’s bill. As are DJ Fresh and Fuse ODG.

Fusion is the biggest pop music festival in Birmingham since the Wireless Festival ended. The event will take place from 28–30 August. Five pounds from each ticket sale will benefit The Prince’s Trust, a charity founded by Charles, Prince of Wales to help disadvantaged young people.

News of Bieber’s headlining gig was announced by the singer on his Facebook account, and London’s Capital FM Radio early Tuesday. The station is working in association with the festival.

The Biebs spoke to Capital FM’s Rob and Katy on Tuesday morning and said, “This is the new JB. I’ve been working a lot in the studio… working a lot in the dance studio… and I’m ready to get back out there and give love to the fans.”

Asked what fans could expect, the singer said “It’s going to be an interesting night,” while promising “high energy.”

He added, “I can’t wait for this next chapter. This next year is going to be pretty awesome.”

Justin revealed his recent Comedy Central roast was a chance to “laugh at all the stuff that happened over the past few years and just start over brand new, have a fresh clean slate. ‘Cause it’s like, I’m an adult. I’m 21 now.”

Local outlet Birmingham Mail noted the summer festival’s of securing Justin Bieber was an “impressive booking.”

The Fusion Festival has also drawn other big names. On Saturday, August 29, Rudimental are headlining. Labrinth — who recently revealed he will be writing with the Biebs — Clean Bandit, Ella Henderson, Sigma and Becky Hill will also perform.

On Sunday, August 30, McBusted are set to headline. The Vamps, Jess Glynne, Gorgon City, Conor Maynard and Union J will also play.

It’s possible Bieber may have a new single to promote when his headliner rolls around. It was previously rumored that the singer would be dropping a new song in either March or April.

Justin Bieber fans are obviously delighted over their idol’s return to big performances.
