MTV Couple Update: Is ‘Teen Mom OG’ Pair Amber Portwood And Gary Shirley Getting Back Together?
MTV couple Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley dated on and off during early seasons of Teen Mom and judging by the trailer for Teen Mom OG, Shirley may not be completely over Portwood.
In a March 23 Us Weekly sneak peek at Teen Mom OG, the MTV couple is seen sitting down at Portwood’s home and discussing their current relationship.
“I feel like we don’t fight no more. It’s kind of nice,” Portwood tells Shirley, the father of her 6-year-old daughter, Leah.
“Well when you listen to me, when you don’t cut me off, it’s very very nice and it makes for a nice conversation,” he responds.
“I just want to have a good relationship with you,” Portwood continued. “I know, like, we’re not ever going to get back together.”
On Teen Mom, the MTV couple was often seen at odds. At one point, they even engaged in a physical altercation, which led to charges being brought against Portwood. However, nowadays, the drama between the MTV couple has settled, and Shirley, although currently expecting his second child, appears to be curious about a possible reconciliation in the future.
“Can you really say never?” he asked.
The MTV couple broke up years ago, and since then, they have both moved on, Portwood with fiancé Matthew Baier, and Shirley with his now-pregnant girlfriend, Kristina Anderson.
While Shirley may have a child on the way, he may not be completely confident in his relationship with Anderson.
At this point, fans don’t know much about Anderson, but what they do know is Shirley reportedly had concerns when she first got pregnant. As was seen during the Teen Mom OG trailer, Portwood claimed Shirley didn’t want the child. As the MTV couple sat down to talk with one another in a trailer clip, Shirley told Portwood he had a baby on the way, but she claimed he was unsure of starting a family with Anderson.
After the MTV couple returns for Teen Mom OG, fans will meet Anderson and Portwood’s fiancé Baier. They will see more of the couple’s relationships, as well as the relationships of other MTV couples, including Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra, Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney, and Farrah Abraham and Simon Saran.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Abraham has confirmed Saran will be seen on the show.
“[Simon Saran] appears on ‘Teen Mom OG’ because I’m open to showing as much as I possibly can. If there is any bickering it is just because we’re getting to know each other,” she told Radar Online.
