Girl Tried To Kill Mom Using Bleach: iPhone Tantrum Leads To Attempted Murder Detention For Girl, 12
Police in Colorado detained a 12-year-old girl Friday on suspicions of attempted murder. Apparently, when the pre-teen’s Apple iPhone was taken away from her, she retaliated against her mom in a heinous manner, not once, but twice: the girl tried to kill her mother by poisoning her with bleach, according to a Fox News report out Monday.
This case is gripping scores of readers. It reads like a grisly plot from a horror movie, but shockingly, this case of a child trying to murder her biological mom actually took place in real life, beginning in early March. In an earlier report, Inquisitr reported that the angry allegedly girl tried to poison her mother by adding bleach to a smoothie. Then, when that failed, she tried to kill her mom using a similar method — thankfully — to no avail.
The Boulder County sheriff’s office released a statement — a portion of it is below — following the detention of the girl for trying to kill her mom. It details the child’s calculated methods in trying to bring harm to her mother over the iPhone discipline.
“On both attempts the girl used bleach. The first attempt on March 2, 2015 left her mother feeling ill after her daughter placed bleach into a breakfast smoothie she made. Mom noticed an odor of bleach in the drink and thought her daughter had cleaned the glass prior to making the beverage and did not rinse all the bleach out. Later in the week the girl poured bleach into a water carafe her mother kept in the bedroom. On the second occasion Mom noticed the odor of bleach in her water and confronted her daughter. This is when she learned her daughter had developed the plan to kill her for taking away her iPhone.”
On the last poisoning attempt, the woman confronted her daughter, who confessed to spiking her beverages on both occasions, stating that she was upset her smartphone was confiscated as a form of discipline. The woman went to a hospital for evaluation, but luckily there was no life-threatening injury or permanent damage done by ingesting the liquid bleach.
Investigators met the woman at the hospital and opened up an investigation into why the girl tried to kill her. Then, on Friday, a decision was made to detain the pre-teenager for the offenses.
At this time, no formal charges have been brought against the girl for trying to kill her mom twice. However, she possibly faces two counts of attempted capital murder.
