‘The Bachelor’ Contestant Courtney Robertson Wants to Find Fame, Not Love

Courtney Robertson is currently on “The Bachelor” trying to win the heart of Ben Flajnik. But apparently she also has an ulterior motive. Roberston wants to be famous.
And in an even more shocking revelation, the producers of the show believe that the other contestants, and the Bachelor himself, are on the show purely for love. A “The Bachelor” source told US Magazine:
“Courtney fooled everyone during the casting process. She seemed sweet and normal. But it became clear Courtney came on the show to win. It wasn’t about Ben or finding true love. She just wanted to be famous. Producers want the show to be believable. They are sensitive about finding people who aren’t there for the right reasons, but Courtney tricked them.”
Ben Flajnik is rather smitten with Robertson despite the other contestants trying to convince him that she isn’t on the show for love. Courtney Robertson was given a rose last night and now advances to the final four.
In a blog post for People Magazine, the bachelor writes:
“To share this moment with Courtney was an exciting experience, and I knew if we moved forward that we would always be able to share this moment. That evening, however, things got a little strange. It’s a tough thing, I understand, for the women to find a fine line between getting along with the other women and realizing it’s difficult to be friends with people dating the people you are dating…. My feelings for Courtney are strong and I don’t want to let external forces get in the way…. All the women told me about their reservations regarding Courtney; I had to think about what I was missing, or if this was all just the nature of the women living together.”
Here’s a video from the rose ceremony during last night’s episode of “The Bachelor.”
Do you think Courtney Roberston is on “The Bachelor” for love or fame? Let me rephrase – Do you think any of the contestants, the bachelor included, truly believe that their soul mate was coincidentally cast on a game show and that true love will prevail after a series of dramatic and highly publicised events?

I grew up feeling like no one would love me because I wasn't beautiful. I owe this fear partially to movies and shows like the Bachelor. The movies always portrayed the less attractive girls as the slapstick comedian who was cast for the laughs. She was the funny sidekick to the beautiful heroine who finds love in the end, while her very plain Jane friend is overlooked. I could never imagine the plain Jane making love. After all, she didn't have a perfect body. There are only a handful of films like The Truth about Cats and Dogs where this isn't true, although even Jeanine Garaffalo's (sp?) character in that movie was pretty. But just recently I read a very funny and heartwarming novel that helped me to see that true love can come to the plain Janes (and Joe)s of the world. It is called What the Heart Sees by Janice Zick. I found it at the Desert Breeze Publishing.com site. Oops, no spaces. What a breath of fresh air it was. I love, love, loved it. I laughed and cried throughout the book.
