‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ Trailer Released, Sequel in the Works [Video]

When you have a premise as good as this, you can’t just make one movie. The first trailer for “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” has just been released and the film’s writer is already talking about a sequel.
Based completely on historical facts, “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” tells the story of Honest Abe getting revenge on a group of vampires that killed his mother. Here’s the synopsis from IMDB:
“President Lincoln’s mother is killed by a supernatural creature, which fuels his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers.”
Seth Graham-Smith, who penned the novel as well as the screenplay, said that the first movie leaves the door completely open for a sequel. Graham-Smith says that “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” reads like a Superhero origin novel, which means that the first movie merely sets the groundwork for a never-ending run of sequels.
Graham-Smith told the CS Monitor:
“The short answer is yes, absolutely. If you read the book there’s an epilogue that leaves things open to that. In the film, without giving anything away, we don’t definitively end the origin story. We leave, not only a mentor story, but also possibly a Lincoln story open.”
Are you interested in “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter?” Are you hoping for a sequel?
Last month a leaked photo showed Daniel Day Lewis dressed up as Abraham Lincoln. Unfortunately, that photo was from another movie. Benjamin Walker will take on the lead role in the Vampire movie.

I’ve walked past this book several times in the comic book store but this is the first that I’m hearing of it being a movie. I work for DISH so I work closely with movies and I see many sequels happen that shouldn’t necessarily exist. I found a behind-the-scenes video clip on DISHonline.com after reading this and the movie definitely looks like it will be worth the $13 it’s going to cost to see it in 3D. Let’s see how the first one does before making plans for another….
