Confusing Iggy Azalea Vine Goes Viral: Here’s The Translation

Iggy Azalea might have some regrets about one of her past performances.

During a 2013 Splash! concert, Iggy Azalea performed the song “D.R.U.G.S.” on stage.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, this was the same song that was recorded with a controversial lyric in which Iggy Azalea referred to herself as “a runaway slave master.”

With this particular concert performance, though, Iggy changed the lyric to “runaway train master.”

However, that is not the part of the performance that recently made headlines. A short clip of Iggy’s performance has turned into a viral Vine video. Without knowing the lyrics of the original song, Iggy’s quick and jumbled rapping sounds like absolute gibberish.

The confusing “gibberish” is what has caused the video clip to go viral in the first place. It is apparently clear that Iggy Azalea was fully engaged in that moment. The flow and the pitch of her voice may have thrown off a lot of people — especially if they were not familiar with the song.

Mashable posted a translation of the lyrics based on the sounds that seemed to be coming from Iggy’s mouth during the clip.

“PIS PA POINT BU PASS ME A JOINT GOTTA TWO SIS BE IMMA SPRING MY JOINT STREET CRED RAP ONE TO THE PA PA PU NO JOOTARANG SID YA NO”

However, based on the actual lyrics of the song “D.R.U.G.S.”, here is what she was really saying in the clip.

“Pitchfork point better pass me the joint
Gotta twist this beat I’ma sprang my joint
Straight crack rock, go to the pop-pop
Pumo jiggy rap city, no tiggy…”

The studio recording of Iggy Azalea rapping the same song at her normal pace makes it much easier to hear and understand her lyrics clearly.

Just like any other recording artist or celebrity knows, mistakes are bound to happen.

When the average entertainer is fully engaged in their performance, anything could happen. Unexpected mistakes and unrealized errors occur rather frequently.

Think about all of the headlines that have been made over the years simply because of an on-stage performer having one of the unexpected and unrealized experiences — including wardrobe malfunctions, stage falls and horrifying vocals during live performances.

For Iggy Azalea, the particular moment captured in the now-viral Vine video was just one of those unexpected, unrealized on-stage moments. Even though it may have sounded like gibberish, the song lyrics prove otherwise.
