Amanda Bynes Shares An Interesting Self Portrait, Twitter Reacts

After a three month hiatus, former child star Amanda Bynes posted a sketched portrait on her personal Twitter account. The sketch, which was posted on March 17 was captioned, “Hey my loves! Here’s a drawing I did…” She ended her tweet with “ily” which stands for “I love you,” and a smiley face.

The last update that the actress made on Twitter was dated December 17 last year, where she revealed her apparent plans of returning to school. Bynes tweeted: “I took a USC campus tour yesterday it was sick! I plan on transferring from FIDM.”

It is unclear whether the sketch of the young woman is a self-portrait or not, although many fans insist that the actress indeed drew herself. The drawing depicted a girl with defined eyebrows and wide eyes which very much resembled the former child star’s physical attributes. The girl in the sketch also has a closed-mouth expression which gives her a sad look. Many are wondering if there is a message that Bynes is trying to convey through her work but her representatives assure the public that the actress is now in a better place.

After a private discussion in the judge’s chambers in Ventura County, California, Bynes’ family lawyer David Esquibias confirmed that the actress is doing better. An insider also told Mail Online that Bynes has been getting along well with her parents. “… Amanda is clear-headed, more focused and has more independence.” the source said.

Currently, Bynes is reported to be living in her own apartment, away from her parents. However, the actress is still under their conservatorship until June 23 which means that her parents are responsible for making decisions over her financial matters and medical treatment.

Bynes had been struggling with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. For the past couple of years, the actress publicly displayed troubling behavior and had several unpredictable outbursts due to mental illness. Through October to November 2014, Bynes got out of hand. She was caught shoplifting in New York and was also reported to have physically assaulted a woman in a night club.

The former child star’s unstable condition was evident in her social media accounts. She would alternate from periods of constant tweets to weeks of total silence. In one of her tweets, Bynes even accused her father of molesting her. In another, she also made a racist remark directed to renowned artist Rihanna.
