Jason Whitlock Apologizes For Small Penis Joke Made at Jeremy Lin

Jason Whitlock of Fox Sports has gotten himself in hot water with a blatantly racist joke he made about New York Knicks phenom guard Jeremy Lin.

During Lin’s 38 point showing against the Los Angeles Lakers two nights ago Whitlock took advantage of the stereo type that Asian Men have smaller than average penis’, tweeting,

“Some lucky lady in NYC is gonna feel a couple of inches of pain tonight.”

The Asian American Journalists Association immediately got online and demanded an apology from Whitlock for the joke which they considered in bad taste at best and racist at worst.

The AAJA posted to their Facebook page,

“[Whitlock's Tweet] doesn’t hold up to the conduct of responsible journalists, those in sports or otherwise, who adhere to standards of fairness, civility and good taste. Nor does it meet the standards of Fox Sports, with which you are associated. Outrage doesn’t begin to describe the reaction of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) to your unnecessary and demeaning tweet

Whitlock sent out an apology to Jeremy Lin and to the country’s Asian population.

He wrote wrote on FoxSports.com,

“I’ve cried watching Tiger Woods win a major golf championship. Jeremy Lin, for now, is the Tiger Woods of the NBA. I suspect Lin makes Asian Americans feel the way I feel when I watch Tiger play golf. I should’ve realized that Friday night when I watched Lin torch the Lakers. For Asian Americans and a lot of sports fans, his nationally televised 38-point outburst was the equivalent of Tiger’s first victory in The Masters. I got caught up in the excitement. I tweeted about what a great story Lin is and how he could rival Tim Tebow. I then gave in to another part of my personality — my immature, sophomoric, comedic nature.”

    rightly so, racism has no place in sports, or our society. If Jason Whitlock does not get some kind of a suspension for his comment, then his employers are saying that its not as bad to be racist to one part of society as it is to another.

    Shame on you Jason Whitlock. I expected better from you. If the situation was reversed the media would have a field day with this. In addition, Jeremy Lin scoring 38 points in a basketball game is not the equal to Tiger winning the Masters. By the way, I'm sure you haven't cried lately while watching Tiger play golf. Your sophomoric, comedic humor is not an excuse. That was just stupid!! Come on man!!!

    Interestingly enough, here's a real example of a racially offensive comment, and more people are hyperventilating about Lin and the fortune cookie, and now about "chink in the armor", but nothing much about something so directly offensive, both in the moral sense and in the racial sense.

    Dave Kolan probably sucks many Asian dicks to get that statistic. Perhaps his samples aren't enough to conclude that as a face. Dave needs to suck more Asian dicks to have a better accurancy on his so called, "claim".

    Yong Park either way you put it race is based upon what the majority of society sees you as not by your genetic make up. Barack Obama is half white, and was raised by his white family, Im sure he has more culturally in common with white people than blacks but guess what society, the media, labels him black therefore he is black, same situation with Tiger Woods. The way it works in America is if you have anything mixed in with white you are no longer "pure" and considered a "tainted" minority, and if you have any black in you whatsoever you are considered black. Thats the good ol USA. On another note, yes he should be fired, I believe that the double standard is due to the way whites exploited other races and the fact that we (blacks) generally got the worst of it, and also because other races weren't on the front lines in the numbers that blacks were during the civil rights movement but again that doesn't make his comments any less offensive or ok.
