Bobbi Kristina Brown Brain Dead? Family Having A Meeting To Make Final Life Support Decision, Report Says

Bobbi Kristina Brown has been in a medically induced coma since she was found unconscious in her bathtub on Jan. 31. For the past seven weeks, her father Bobby Brown has kept her on life support despite her grim prognosis.

Several media outlets have reported that there is very little chance of recovery for the 22-year-old and there is reportedly very little that can be done to change the situation. However, the family has continued to pray for a miracle.

Now, Radar Online, reports the family will be making a decision about withdrawing life support in the coming days. The publication also reported speculation of brain death since the family is reportedly considering withdrawing life support.

Despite Bobby Brown’s request for family members to refrain from speaking with the media about Bobbi Kristina’s health, another member of the family has shared details about the upcoming meeting.

Apparently, Bobbi Kristina’s condition has not improved so the family’s options are minimal. Fox News previously reported that a family member insists Bobbi Kristina is “showing no signs of life at all.” So, withdrawing life support is the alternative reportedly being discussed yet again.

Although the final decision to withdraw life support will ultimately be made by Bobbi Kristina’s father and grandmother, Cissy Houston, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports the Houston family is, indeed, pressuring Bobby to consider pulling the plug.

As previously reported on Inquisitr, Bobby and Cissy have different opinions about long-term life support. While Bobby reportedly refuses to consider withdrawing life support, Cissy allegedly insists it’s time to let her go. So, the family’s division will probably add more stress to the already-daunting situation.

“It is really on Bobby Brown’s shoulders to let her go in peace… It is something that the Houston and Brown [families] had agreed to do as early as February 11, but Bobby Brown reneged.”

Dr. Michael DeGeorgia, a neurological specialist who’s dealt with similar cases, recently shared details about his experience with patients like Bobbi Kristina. Seven weeks in a medically induced coma is reportedly an unusual amount of time for a patient to be kept sedated.

For those who missed it, a couple weeks ago, the family requested for Bobbi Kristina to be taken out the medically induced coma. But, unfortunately, she reportedly suffered a series of seizures. Since Bobbi Kristina has been in a medically induced coma for so long, rumors about brain death have begun circulating yet again. Dr. DeGeorgia’s statement also coincides with the growing speculation. He also explained the different avenues doctors normally take when moving forward with a patient who has a bleak prognosis.

“Patients’ families can decide if they want to push forward with continued medical treatments, even if their loved one is in a devastated situation and have little hope for survival… You would usually abide by the family’s wishes, unless you decide that they are brain dead and that they have no brain function.

If you think they’re going to do well, you push forward. You take steps to get them to the nursing home or rehab… If you think they’re not going to get any better and that their quality of life is so bad that they would never want that, then you have a discussion with the family.”

Specific details about when the alleged family meeting will take place have yet to be confirmed.
