Kendall Jenner On Bruce: Whether Man Or Woman ‘I Will Always Love My Dad’ [UPDATED]

UPDATE March 19, 2015: Us Weekly has retracted its report about Kendall Jenner’s alleged comments about Bruce Jenner. The magazine was unable to verify the freelance reporter’s account of the alleged interview with Ms. Jenner.

ORIGINAL STORY: Bruce Jenner’s gender transition from male to female has been widely reported, but no members of the Kardashian family have confirmed it is actually happening — until now. Kendall Jenner, the oldest daughter of Bruce and ex-wife Kris, told Us backstage at the Comedy Central Justin Bieber roast on March 15 how she feels about her dad. As her comments make clear, there is nothing but love for her father.

“I love my dad. He’s always been there for me and my sisters. He’s a wonderful man. And just because he’s changing shoes now, so to speak, doesn’t make him less wonderful. I will always love my dad, whether he’s a man or a woman.”

One of Bruce’s stepchildren, Kim Kardashian, also expressed support for him during an Entertainment Tonight interview in January. Far from confirming that he was transitioning, Kim was instead coy, saying that Bruce can discuss for himself whatever goes on in his life.

“I think everyone goes through things in life, and I think that story and what Bruce is going through, I think he’ll share whenever the time is right. I feel like that’s his journey to talk about.”

Until recently, Bruce Jenner’s transition was reported to be the subject of a docuseries under development. USA Today reports today that an E! producer says the show is no longer in the works, but Jenner is a regular part of the current season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Kendall has been keeping up the family brand by reminding her 10 million Twitter followers about the show. She’s also sending out the love to a now-reclusive member of the Kardashian clan, big brother Rob.

Kendall’s comments are an example of a united Kardashian-Jenner front, but a source revealed to People today that Bruce’s gender transition caused an even bigger rift in the family than had his divorce from Kris. Although the love from his children is sincere, the revelation has been an adjustment.

“[T]he whole family went through a rough patch. It’s naturally a difficult thing to process and work through.”

The split was made worse by Bruce’s relocation to a Malibu estate where he’s been spending less time with the Kardashians and more time with his four children from other relationships.

Jenner discussed his feelings of isolation from the Kardashians during the season premiere of KUWTK last Sunday. The show airs on the E! network.
