Cristie Codd, J.T. Codd: Hollywood Chef, ‘Next Food Network Star’ Feared Dead, Neighbor, Robert Jason Owens, Arrested For Murder

Christie Codd and her husband, Joseph J.T. Codd, are dead, and the local police have arrested the missing Leicester couple’s neighbor Robert Jason Owens, 36, for murder. Fox Carolina is reporting that Owens is also charged with breaking and entering. Details are still sketchy and police have not indicated whether they have found the bodies of the missing couple, nor how the deaths occurred.

Thirty-eight-year-old Christie Schoen Codd and 45-year old J.T. Codd were reported missing after family members were unable to make contact with them at their home on Sunday. Police were dispatched to the home located on Hookers Gap Road in Asheville, North Carolina, but found only two dogs and the couple’s cars. People who knew them say that they would never leave the dogs unattended and would never go without making contact with family members, according to WYFF.

An all out search was performed by air and by ground. Family members told investigators that Christie Schoen Codd was pregnant. Neighbors say they didn’t know the couple well since they traveled often.

An Internet Movie Database search shows that Cristie Schoen Codd, whose name is sometimes misspelled Christie Codd, was a Hollywood chef and caterer on movie sets, and she was also an actress.

The former Hollywood film chef had also appeared as a contestant during season 8 on the hit show Next Food Network Star. A mini bio for Cristie Schoen Codd states that she is fluent in German and was born in Madrid, Spain. The former chef, best remembered for her delicious Cajun cooking, graduated from LSU.

Joseph J.T. Codd graduated from The University of Maryland and worked as a key grip on Hollywood movie sets.
