Maci Bookout Opens Up About Relationship With Taylor McKinney: ‘I Want To Be The Best For Him’

Maci Bookout fans have yet to meet her boyfriend, Taylor McKinney, on screen, but all that will change when Teen Mom OG airs on March 23.

The couple has been dating for about two years, and initially, the relationship was long distance. Taylor lived in Oklahoma while Maci resided in her home state of Tennessee. After months of traveling back and forth to see one another, Taylor decided to make the move to be closer to Maci. Now, the couple is expecting a child together, something that Maci has admitted was a shock.

When Maci Bookout found out she was pregnant, she and Taylor were not actively trying to get pregnant. In fact, the reality show star revealed that she suffered from PCOS and didn’t think she would be able to have any more kids. However, her miracle baby happened and Jayde Carter is due to be born in June. Maci’s pregnancy will be chronicled on the new season of Teen Mom OG as will her relationship with Taylor.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly (via The Edge), Maci opened up about her relationship with Taylor and revealed that things with him are pretty great.

“Every day I wake up and want to be the best for him, and he does the same for me.”

Not only do Maci and Taylor get along, but as previously reported by the Inquisitr, Taylor also has a good relationship with Maci’s son, Bentley.

This is not Maci’s first serious relationship, though, but it does seem to be the best one she has had. The Tennessee native first dated Ryan Edwards, a relationship that was chronicled on 16 and Pregnant and later Teen Mom. Although they have a son together, they have always struggled to get along and to co-parent, something that will be shown on the new season of the show.

“We don’t argue, but we don’t really talk to each other either. It will never get easier.”

Co-parenting is a situation that is not always easy. Many people have slammed the hit MTV show for glamorizing teen pregnancy, but it shows the difficult aspects of teen parenting. While the girls are not teens anymore, the lifelong repercussions of having a child at a young age are shown.

Teen Mom OG is set to premiere on MTV on March 23 and will include Maci Bookout as well as the rest of the original cast.
