Long-Awaited ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Film Wasn’t A Fraction As Good As The Books

While many people could barely contain themselves waiting for the long-awaited Fifty Shades of Grey film to finally hit cinemas, many were more than a little disappointed with the outcome after having enjoyed such vivid detail in the book series. The film seems to lack a storyline and some feel that it is a poor reflection of the book.

While it remains arguable whether the actors cast for the roles were good calls, it seems they did their best with a production which felt rushed and almost amateurish at times.

As the world only recently got over the shock of the nature of the BDSM relationship portrayed in the books, between student Anastasia Steele and billionaire businessman Christian Grey, many had high hopes that the movie, for once, would do the books justice.

However, as many women tell men all the time, reading about erotica is far better and more powerful than watching porn, for example. And while most men think that sounds silly, the Fifty Shades movie kind of proved that point, as women who found themselves highly aroused by the words on the page didn’t, in general, experience the same at the cinema.

In most countries, the world of BDSM remains taboo in many ways. However, characters like Christian Grey are becoming more popular, as many women find themselves being drawn to the idea of a dominant man, even one who takes control of their life.

There are also many men out there who feel they relate to Christian Grey and his take on relationships and sexuality, even if their bank balance doesn’t look quite like his.

What’s for sure is that the Fifty Shades of Grey movie was nowhere near as good as the book series. Many people probably won’t be rushing to see the sequels, which will be predictably made soon, as they always are, no matter how tragic the first attempt.
