Apple iPad Sales Are Down, But Why?

Sales are down for the Apple iPad. That is according to a CNN Money report. With sales that have dropped in the last four quarters, the search for solutions begin. There is one major hurdle – what to do in order for things to turn around remain a tall task for Apple.

It is safe to say that the majority of technology users own at least are familiar with Apple products. Apple has the Mac, the MacBook, and many versions of the iPod and iPad. Thus far it seems as if the iPad is the product which is not carrying its own weight.

From a consumer standpoint, the iPad has plenty of competition. The Microsoft Surface Pro, Samsung Galaxy Tablet, and the Kindle are among the devices in which people can choose from.

While sales have been solid for them, the iPad has failed to meet the marks that Apple foresaw when the tablet launched five years ago.

Part of Apple’s problems is the total lack of applications. Most of the other tablets employs an Android operation system with Google Play as an added feature. The apps from Google Play seems endless, especially the free apps. Many of Apple’s applications offer a less than bang for your buck effect. Also, many of the apps cost money.

Sure it is easy to say that $2.99 is not a handful of cash, but when your competition boast a comparable app for free, and their device is cheaper, you are going to go with the better value.

Another issue is the continued emergence and adaptation of smartphones. Five years ago when the iPad had its debut, smartphones were just becoming bigger and more tech savvy.

You can do so many different things with just an iPhone 6 that it somehow negates the need of an iPad. The larger screen does not translate into portability. It is not as if an iPad can fit inside of your front or back pocket, but the iPhone 6 does. And so does the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which has a 5.7 inch display and 2.7 GHZ Quad Processor.

Simply put, the Galaxy Note 4 is a phone that has a large screen with fast connectivity and does not require Wi-Fi. All it needs is the 4G coverage that are standard with most cell phone providers. And the Galaxy Note 4 is equipped with Google Play.

Look for Apple to make a strong comeback in the tablet market. The company have plans to release the iPad Pro. Tech Radar reports that it will hit the market this year. The newest iPad product will be bigger with an 12.9 inch screen, but who knows whether or not it will be better. Apple sure hopes so. They are banking on the comeback of the iPad.

Success will only be noticed via the total amount of sales.
