Rick Santorum Raises $1 Million In 24 Hours

Talk about a momentum swing for GOP Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum, after winning in Colorada, Minnesota and Missouri his campaign was able to raise over $1 million in just 24 hours.

The money came in so fast that $800,000 raised through the politicians website caused it to crash.

While the $1 million in donations is definitely impressive the real hero of the Santorum campaign is Foster Friess, a Christian billionaire who’s super PAC has helped keep the campaign moving forward through ups and downs.

Speaking about why he chose to back Santorum Friess told the New York Times that he believes Santorum is the candidate most likely to beat President Obama in a Presidential showdown.

Friess has even promised to donate a lot more money to Santorum’s campaign if Mitt Romney continue to raise threats against Santorum, a prospect Foster actually welcomed.

“If he does that it is so exciting,” Friess adds, “because it finally recognizes that Rick Santorum is a threat.”

In the meantime the GOP base has continued to spread out victories among Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, all three of whom have flip flopped in the polls over the last several months. In the meantime Ron Paul is managing to finish in the top three positions for each state of contention.

Do you think Rick Santorum will be able to capitalize on his three recent victories in order to win the GOP Presidential nomination?
