Kanye West certainly has a way with words. He’s been critically helmed as an amazing lyricist, and as a person, his words definitely create headlines with how candid he often is.
During an interview with Clique TV, West oddly compared a fashion purchase mistake to getting a prostitute pregnant. Throughout Paris Fashion Week, West has been making headlines as a personality, but when he sat down with Clique TV it was all about his Yeezy Boost sneakers, which is his line with Adidas.
He explains the problem of making something like the Yeezy sneaker accessible to the masses because of the elitism that the fashion world has. This leads into the prostitute comparison.
“When I was young, I was really scared to walk into luxury stores, too. It’s very non-inviting and it’s very expensive. Like, f–k if you’re not knowledgeable you can make a very expensive mistake—an extremely, like, it’s bordering on getting a prostitute pregnant or something like that.”
He continued, “An expensive mistake like that when you buy a jacket.”
As for his sneakers, fans are already debating Kanye West’s Adidas line.
@HYPEBE4ST I’m only getting into them now. I was Nike all my life. No other brands. Their new designs & retro product are just TOO great.

Currently, the sneaker is sold out, and going by the response, we aren’t surprised as it’s a limited edition product from Kanye. Adidas’ official site describes the shoe as follows:
“The YEEZY BOOST is Kanye West’s first collaboration with adidas Originals. The limited-edition sneaker is exquisitely designed featuring beautiful yet simple materials. The silhouette transcends footwear trends and champions the next way of thinking about sneaker fashion. Featuring adidas’ coveted boost cushioning technology, the YEEZY BOOST will combine the ultimate in comfort and performance with high-end style.”
Prior to his collaboration with Adidas, Kanye also had a line with Nike that went sour due to marketing problems. Fortunately, he seems to be very happy with his deal at Adidas. West signed a $10 million dollar deal with the Nike rivalry. When he worked with Nike, Kanye complained that he only received 10 to 20 cents on the dollar for each sale of his Nike sneakers.
