‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ Producer Talks DLC, Claims It’s Not Up To BioWare To Decide When Certain Details Can Be Revealed

Like with any major title released today, some gamers were inquiring about BioWare’s future DLC plans for Dragon Age: Inquisition since before the game was even launched. However, it seems that the number of fans looking for details on the first Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC is increasing every day after the developer confirmed last month that the development of an upcoming add-on has officially begun.

When asked by fans about why BioWare is staying so quiet regarding information on the game’s first DLC pack, Dragon Age: Inquisition executive producer Mark Darrah revealed on Twitter that the decision to announce specific details on add-on content isn’t up to the developer alone.

“There are some odd rules we are forced to follow.”

Darrah didn’t elaborate on who exactly does make the rules he was referencing, but he did make it clear that the development team simply isn’t allowed to freely discuss upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition features that could be added in future DLC.

“I’m just dancing to a set of rules I can’t really explain.”

Providing additional insight on the lack of details for new Dragon Age: Inquisition content, BioWare’s Mike Laidlaw recently spoke to Eurogamer about why they have remained so silent about the add-on. The Dragon Age: Inquisition creative director stated in the interview that the only reason the developer has been so secretive about the DLC is because they want to make sure that they can deliver any new features that might be included before announcing it to fans as a possibility.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a conscious decision so much as us making sure anything we’re working on is locked down before we talk about it. I don’t have anything official to announce but I’d say you won’t have to wait too much long.”

It does make sense for BioWare to want to wait until they have a better idea of exactly what the upcoming downloadable content for Dragon Age: Inquisition would include before openly talking about the add-on. Otherwise, gamers could get upset that certain features discussed were cut even if the developer never promised that they would be included.

Regardless of the reasons behind BioWare’s silence surrounding Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s first DLC, the developer continues to work on the upcoming content. Laidlaw and Darrah have both admitted that they should be ready to officially discuss the content soon, meaning Dragon Age: Inquisition fans should hear more about plans for the add-on pack shortly.

Are you craving to get your hands on new DLC additions for Dragon Age: Inquisition or has the game’s multiplayer mode managed to keep you satisfied?
