‘Bones’ Spoilers: Brennan’s Pregnancy Has Challenges And Booth’s Gambling Problem Is Revisited

Booth and Brennan are going to be parents again, and while Bones Season 10 has yet to address that on screen just yet – the show has been on hiatus since the 200th episode aired December 11 and returns with new episodes March 26 – there are already some spoilers teasing what to expect this time around. To make things more complicated, an old problem of Booth’s is going to be dealt with and have consequences.

Booth and Brennan are going to try to keep her second pregnancy a secret from the others in the beginning when Bones Season 10 resumes, and that’s not the only thing that will be different this time around for the couple, as creator Hart Hanson has revealed to TV Guide. While there will be some amusing moments ahead with the pregnancy, there are also going to be some challenges as well.

“She is really pregnant, so we have to make a meal out of the fact that she’s very, very pregnant. … She sailed through her last pregnancy. She’s going to find out that not all pregnancies are the same.”

There’s also a serial killer coming in the rest of the season, and this one is going to be different from the ones seen previously on the show, as Hanson has teased that this arc isn’t going to last too long.

“Our other serial killers have existed for great, huge arcs, so they’ve had to be quite complex. This serial killer does not stick around for very long, so that killer’s motivations are a little more clear and not as bizarre as we’ve had before.”

Given everything that they’ve been through the past couple of seasons and even just losing Sweets at the beginning of Bones Season 10 and with Brennan pregnant again, that’s a good thing. They could use a break, even if for them a break means regular cases and a serial killer case that gets wrapped up quicker than ones have been in the past.

In other news, showrunner Stephen Nathan has revealed to TVLine that they will be revisiting a certain problem Booth has had in the past.

“We will be dealing with Booth’s gambling problem, and it will have repercussions for Booth and Brennan’s marriage that will not be easily resolved.”

TVLine has also reported that for that storyline, Alex Skuby will be playing Booth’s sponsor in gamblers anonymous, and he wants Booth to talk during these meetings so he can take the needed step to recovery.

There has to be a more light-hearted episode coming up with all that happening, right? Right. Hanson told TV Guide that for Bones episode 206, they’re doing something special to mark the occasion, an occasion that only this show could celebrate.

“[That’s] as many bones as there are in the human body. We’re having some fun with that. Every bone in the human body will be mentioned in Episode 206.”

That’s going to be fun, so be ready to keep track!

Finally, spoilers are one thing, but if you’ve been missing seeing your favorite characters in action, the video below is what you really want to see. Fox has released the promo for Bones Season 10, Episode 11, “The Psychic in the Soup,” and it promises 11 new episodes in a row with insane cases – and Brennan’s book in the clearance section. How dare they!

That first Bones episode back will see the return of Cyndi Lauper’s Avalon Harmonia, Angela’s psychic friend, as the team is drawn into the world of fortune tellers after a body of a local psychic is found decomposing in a tree trunk. Plus, Booth and Brennan go over the pros and cons of Christine’s new imaginary friend, and the team remembers Sweets on his birthday.

Bones Season 10 returns March 26 on Fox with new episodes.
