Jana Duggar Quitting ’19 Kids?’ Duggar Family Responds To Report That Jana’s Breaking Free

Jana Duggar’s family has quietly responded to rumors that the oldest Duggar daughter is leaving 19 Kids and Counting, and it looks like Jana might not be breaking free, after all.

According to a recent report, 25-year-old Jana finally decided that she was sick and tired of being treated like her parents’ live-in nanny. A source told OK! Magazine that the oldest Duggar daughter stood up to her controlling father by telling him that she wants to trade babysitting and doing chores for a college education. By leaving home for school, Jana would also be leaving her family’s TLC reality show.

Unfortunately for those who want Jana Duggar to make her escape, it looks like she hasn’t left home just yet. Shortly after the OK! story was published, there was a flurry of activity on the Duggar family’s social media accounts. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar posted a few photos on the Duggar Family Facebook page that prove that Jana is still at home with her little brothers and sisters. The picture below shows Jana working on a puzzle with her siblings.

Another picture shows the 19 Kids and Counting star hanging out with the family during a visit from newlyweds Jessa and Ben Seewald. As you can see, Jana is putting on a happy face in both Facebook photos.

Jana even popped up on the official Duggar family Instagram page. In the photo below, she’s posing with her twin John David, pregnant sister Jill, and fellow sister mom Jinger. The picture is probably meant to be a response to the OK! story — it’s the first photo that’s been shared on the family Instagram page since February 19.

Jana Duggar And Siblings

Jana and her twin John David might be exactly the same age, but their lives couldn’t be any more different. According to Michelle Duggar’s TLC blog, John David is a licensed pilot and a constable. He’s also worked at Duggar Towing. Jana and her sisters have never been provided with opportunities like these that allow them to leave home without an accountability partner.

Even though John David is single, he already owns his own house, and he’s been renting it out to save money for his future. Jim Bob doles out Duggar-owned properties to all his kids, but, as the Inquisitr previously reported, Jill and Jessa Duggar weren’t allowed to take advantage of Jim Bob’s real estate gig until they got married.

Because Duggar daughters are treated differently than Duggar sons, many 19 Kids and Counting fans have been rooting for one of the girls to break free from the family. Sadly, Jana Duggar might not be the daughter who does this, and it looks like she’s very unsure about her future. However, if Jana or any of her sisters ever do decide that they want to move out, perhaps cousin Amy will take them under her wing. During a recent interview with Radar Online, the “free spirit” of 19 Kids and Counting revealed that she doesn’t let Jim Bob push her around.

“I kinda get under his skin, but he’s not going to control me… He has no reigns over me. He doesn’t know what I’m going to do next.”

Do you think Jana Duggar or one of her sisters will ever follow Amy’s lead by going against what Jim Bob wants, or will they continue to feel that their only option is to live in his home under his rules until they all get married?
