How Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ Inspired Selena Gomez & Zedd’s New Music Video

It’s no secret that Taylor Swift’s hit single, “Shake It Off,” helped Selena Gomez prepare for her new music video featuring Zedd. Selena and Zedd released the music video for their new single “I Want You To Know” earlier this week.

Gomez is obviously one of Swift’s good friends. MTV News says that the former Disney star was obviously inspired by Swift’s “Shake It Off.” She not only wanted to use the mantra in her personal life, but also in her new music video.

Zedd even said it himself. The DJ and producer shot the behind-the-scenes footage of the “I Want You To Know” music video. Zedd hinted that Selena may have wanted to “Shake It Off” in their music video. He also complimented his rumored girlfriend.

“It’s kind of inspiring that you can kind of shut off and do your thing and not be bothered by other people.”

You can watch the behind-the-scenes footage for yourself and see if Gomez was inspired by Swift’s motivational song.

Like Taylor, Selena does a lot of hair flipping, hand-to-head dancing, twirling, and confetti throwing in the music video. The former country singer has pulled off these moves at various awards shows.

The on-again, off-again friends seem to be on again. Swift reportedly attended a birthday party that was also attended by Gomez. The two singers have reportedly patched up their friendship, since Gomez is now in a stable and secure relationship with Zedd.

Selena also wants to help Taylor find her perfect man. A source told Hollywood Life that she has been talking to Zedd about introducing Taylor to some of his DJ friends and he is down with the idea. The source close to the cute couple revealed their recent conversation to the gossip site.

“Selena is determined to help Taylor find her soul mate. She’s talked to Zedd about introducing Taylor to some of his friends and he’s totally into helping Selena play Cupid.”

Taylor is already rumored to be dating the successful DJ/producer named Calvin Harris. The two were reportedly seen dancing and flirting at the 2015 BRIT Awards. Taylor was also spotted at one at Calvin’s concert in Las Vegas on Tuesday, March 10.

It sounds like the “Shake It Off” mantra is working in Gomez’s favor. “I Want You To Know” is currently number 17 on Billboard’s Hot 100 list. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s single, “Shake It Off,” is currently at No. 21, which is not too far behind the hit EDM song.
