Number of commercial Energy Star rated buildings up 130%

It’s all about saving as much energy you can whether it be in our homes or our workplaces. For those interested in those kinds of things the EPA has just released it’s Top 10 list of U.S. cities with the most number of Energy Star rated commercial buildings. They also noted in their release that the number of buildings has jumped over 2007 by 130%. As well the buildings use 35% less energy and emit 35% less CO2.

2. San Francisco
3. Houston
4. Washington DC
5. Dallas-Fort Worth
6. Chicago
7. Denver
8. Minneapolis-St Paul
9. Atlanta
10. Seattle

Just a parting note – for a building qualify for an energy star rating it mus score in the top 25% using the EPA’s National Energy Performance Rating System.
