Tom Cruise Selling Colorado Home For $59 Million, Says He Doesn’t Use It Very Much

Tom Cruise is selling his Colorado home for $59 million, with a spokesman saying the mega actor simply doesn’t use the Tellluride mansion very often.

Tom bought the 298-acre property back when he was married to Nicole Kidman, and used it often it though his brief marriage to Katie Holmes. But in recent years it has say largely unused, and this week Cruise finally listed the Colorado home for sale at a cool $59 million.

The home has already gotten a lot of attention — at least in the press. The listing through Telluride Sotheby’s International Realty notes some of the amazing features, including breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains.

“Nestled deep within the rarest assemblage of nearly 300 acres of rolling meadows & mature forest just 12 minutes from the historic resort town of Telluride, Colorado, this property offers the ultimate retreat for those seeking privacy, scenic beauty and serenity. Carefully planned over the course of several years, the home offers exceptional design and meticulous craftsmanship throughout. Intimate spaces frame views of the surrounding mountains while bleached cedar timbers, dove-tail joinery and native stone showcase the finest materials and uncompromising attention to detail assembled by the region’s top builder.

A warm and inviting main house & story-book guest house are situated upon a rise overlooking the regions towering 14,000-foot peaks. The property’s vast acreage is threaded by a private trail system providing gated access into tens of thousands of acres of surrounding National Forest.”

Cruise’s Colorado mansion has some great features inside, as well. The listing included a slideshow of pictures of the home’s interior, showing a living room with exposed wood beam ceiling and a sprawling kitchen. The estate also has a 1,600-square-foot guest house.

For Cruise, there may be some difficult memories associated with the home. He went there more often during his marriage to Katie Holmes, and even used the estate as the setting for a Vanity Fair shoot where he and his then-wife introduced daughter Suri to the world.

The family spent the first few months of Suri’s life there as well.

But since the divorce, Katie moved to New York City to raise Suri, and recently relocated back to Los Angeles. Cruise has also been busy with several filming projects, leaving the house unused. With the real estate market back on the uptick, it seemed a good time for Tom Cruise to sell the Colorado home, even at $59 million.
