School Kid Told To Apologize For Talking In Class — His Hilarious Note In Response Goes Viral

A 13-year-old school kid came up with a cheerfully snarky response to a teacher who told him to apologize for talking in class, and even though the teen boy apparently chickened out when it came to actually handing his apology note to his teacher, thousands of other people have now had an eyeful of the note thanks to Twitter and are cheering the rebellious youngster on.

The classroom incident was the type of thing that happens every day, thousands of times per day, in schools all over the world. This one happened to take place at Oldmachar Academy in Aberdeen, Scotland. Though the teen who penned the note hasn’t been named, several media outlets in the United Kingdom have tracked him down and dug up the story behind the latest viral note sensation.

All that happened was that a teacher in a foreign language class caught the kid chatting with classmates when he was supposed to be listening to the teacher. So he asked, or rather, ordered this youth to pen a letter expressing remorse for his transgression.

But as teens often do, the boy felt that it was he, himself, who had been wronged and become the victim of a grave injustice. So he scribbled down the note that follows — then crumpled it up. But his brother retrieved it and posted a photo of the note on Twitter. The note was picked up first by the local media as well as reposted and retweeted hundreds, possibly thousands of times.

The kid’s flippant tone, declaring in no uncertain terms that he is “not sorry,” and that he dislikes his German class, caught the imagination of the Twitterverse.

The full text of the handwritten note (with the names of the teacher and fellow students blurred out) reads.

“I turned around and talked to —— for a few seconds. I was not talking constantly. Also, everyone else was talking too and I got this work for speaking to —— for a second.

“I don’t think it’s fair and I’m not sorry. I already done the work. I do not enjoy German.

“I need to write to that line down there but I have nothing else to say for myself so I’ll just tell you I had chips for lunch yesterday.”

Britain’s Daily Mail caught up with the boy’s father, who said that he had no idea that his son had authored the note until he heard about the Twitter sensation. But, he added, “I don’t know if he would have had the guts to hand it in.”

So is this school kid who wrote the viral apology note worth all of the online applause? Or he just another bratty teenager?
