Shailene Woodley And Theo James Talk Close Calls On ‘Insurgent’ Set [Video]

Shailene Woodley and Theo James are talking about all their on set scrapes and bruises, while filming Insurgent, the sequel to the hit movie Divergent.

As the release for Insurgent draws near, the charismatic pair is talking about what happened when they were shooting those action scenes last year. Despite the fact that a lot of special effects are used by director Robert Schwentke, both Woodley and James are doing most of their own stunts.

As such, the chances of getting injured are real. During an interview with E!, Shailene Woodley — who narrowly escaped being seriously injured on the set of Divergent — revealed what her scariest experiences on the set of Insurgent were.

“There (were) no injuries (this time). There was one time where I had a little nose bump and it cracked really loud…and my eyes were watering and I was like s**t I just broke my nose but it wasn’t broken so we’re fine!”

“(There was) no swelling, no black eyes, it was just really sore for like a month and a half but other than that (it was) no big deal.”

None of this deterred the feisty Woodley, who is so blissfully excited to be involved with this series that she doesn’t mind getting some bumps and bruises along the way. The mostly obscure actress, found the launching pad for her career with Divergent and later on Fault in our Stars and is enjoying every minute of bring the character Tris to life, despite the physicality of her role.

“It’s so much fun. You get to practice and utilize certain aspects of yourself that usually in your daily life you’re too lazy to call upon. Like, that would be really fun to climb that wall, you know, but in the movie you actually get to climb the wall.”

But Shailene Woodley is not the only one who got some bruises on the set of Divergent, her hunky co-star, Theo James, who plays Four, revealed he also had some close calls.

“I got punched in the face a couple of times accidentally. Jonny (Weston), in the train sequence, clipped me a couple of times but it makes it all the more fun.”

“We got to do things that we weren’t able to do in the first movie…you get to push (the envelope) a little bit more.”
