No stranger to controversy, Starbucks Coffee is facing calls for a boycott of the coffeehouse giant. Evangelical pastor Steven Andrew, President of the USA Christian Ministries in California is calling on his followers to stay away from Starbucks for their support of legalized gay marriage in Washington State.

Pastor Andrew said in a statement,

“Christians are upset with Starbucks for turning against God…Starbucks can follow Satan if they want to. However, pastors are to help Christians. Are you on the Lord’s side? Will you help the USA be blessed by God?”

According to Reuters, the statement and boycott call was issued on Tuesday, the day before the gay marriage bill passed the Washington State Senate. The USA ministries is calling on all Christians to stop serving Starbucks products at their churches, social events and charity functions.
