Inside ‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules’ Proposal: The Ring, The Tears, The Final Rose Drama

Bachelor Chris Soules journey to find love ends in a romantic proposal that includes a magnificent Neil Lane ring. There will be plenty of tears shed — both happy and sad — on what is being called one of the most “romantic and dramatic” season finales in the show’s history.

The three-hour event, hosted by Chris Harrison, will play out in front of a live studio audience on March 9. Before the proposal, the two remaining girls, Becca and Whitney, will head to Chris’ hometown of Arlington, Iowa, and meet his family — an important “next step” in becoming the future Mrs. Soules.

In the sneak peek video preview below, Chris is shown wandering around a snow-covered field, confused about who to give the final rose to. With the help of his family, Chris considers the pros and cons of both relationships, but it’s an emotional one.

According to TV by the Numbers, Chris’ father feels that amidst all of the confusion, his son is “truly in love with Becca” but Whitney wins the whole family over with an “emotional toast” during dinner.

“Chris confesses to his Dad his struggle of the heart. He explains how torn he is by strong feelings for both women and his heart is pulling him in two different directions.”

Before he proposes to one of his final two ladies, Chris seeks reassurance from Becca that her feelings for him are real, and that she is ready to make the move from California to Iowa. According to a previous report from the Inquisitr, Becca tells Chris’ mother she is not in love with him, but she does this he is an “amazing man” — something Chris will need to consider before he chooses who he gets down on one knee for.

Chris also spends time with Whitney, who says she is crazy in love with Chris, something that raises a few red flags with the Bachelor. Blogger Reality Steve stated in a recent live video chat that Whitney knows how to “play the game” — perhaps Chris senses that she may be trying too hard to win the final prize.

“She [Whitney] reminds him of how much in love with him she really is. But will her eagerness to please raise more questions rather than strengthen Chris’ resolve to pick her as his future wife?”

While the second preview (below) shows Chris struggling to make a decision, many fans will agree that he will probably propose to Whitney at the final rose ceremony. The beautiful Kentucky native may be over-the-top when it comes to expressing her love for Chris, but WetPaint states that Whitney has been “100 percent focused” on the handsome farmer since the first day they met and avoided the girl drama all season. Becca just doesn’t seem ready to commit, and chances are, Chris will go with the sure thing if he wants lasting love.

“Becca and Chris had a connection from the start, but it’s never really been shown why — no matter how cool we think she is. With Whitney, ABC has been really careful to show us their ‘journey,’ making sure we don’t miss one kiss or stolen moment of time, and never letting us see his feelings for the golden girl falter.”

Get ready for a tear-filled proposal, a magnificent ring, and Chris Soules sweating through his shirt (again). Speaking of rings, check out this stunning 1.5 carat emerald cut Neil Lane diamond engagement ring — it’s rumored to be the ring Chris gives his bride-to-be at the final rose ceremony. Amidst all of the Bachelor‘s indecision, it looks like he’s spot on when it comes to making decisions of the jewelry kind.

Watch the Bachelor season finale and the live After the Final Rose special starting at 8 p.m. ET on ABC on March 9. Not near a television on Monday night? ABC is live streaming the entire show online so you don’t miss a minute of the big proposal.
