Carrie Underwood, Steven Tyler Join Forces for Super Bowl Eve CMT Crossroads Episode

Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood are throwing a huge Super Bowl party as they partner up for CMT Crossroads: Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood Live From Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam.

Being that Underwood, 28, kicked off her career on American Idol – the hit singing show where Tyler currently moonlights as a judge – it’s only fitting that the CMT series Crossroads, which pairs country singers with artists of other genres for a singalong and story-sharing session, has picked the duo to team up for an episode schedule to air live (11pm EST) from Indianapolis on Feb. 4, the day before Super Bowl XLVI.

According to CMT’s website, Tyler and Underwood will “take on one another’s fan-favorite hits during their high energy, not-to-be missed performance.”

During rehearsals in Indianapolis, Underwood said of the upcoming show:

“I’m excited about our opening. I don’t want to give away too much.”

“And I’m excited about a marriage of two songs that we put together, which is phenomenal,” Tyler added.

Besides the Tyler-Underwood edition, past Crossroads episodes have featured collaborations by stars including: John Mayer and Keith Urban; Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire; Def Leppard and Taylor Swift; and Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.

Tyler sits on the Idol judges’ panel alongside Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson; Underwood, who won the fourth season of the Fox franchise, is nominated for female vocalist of the year for the Academy of Country Music Awards, slated to air April 1 on CBS.
