MTV Star Nathan Griffith Released From Custody After Alleged ‘Teen Mom 2’ Assault

MTV star Nathan Griffith is a free man following Wednesday’s arrest. According to a new report, the Teen Mom 2 star was released from custody last night, after spending nearly 24 hours behind bars.

On March 6, Starcasm revealed the MTV star was released from custody on Thursday around 5 p.m. The Horry County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Griffith’s release, noting the MTV star was given a $1,000 bond on Thursday for his domestic violence charge.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the MTV star’s alleged assault on Wednesday has reportedly ended his relationship with Jenelle Evans, the mother of his young son, Kaiser. Although Evans has denied pressing charges against Griffith on Twitter, a source told E! News that their engagement had been called off after it was revealed that Griffith was seeing someone behind Evans’ back.

“He’s been talking to another girl for two weeks. [He] felt like he cheated on someone and then admitted he’s been seeing someone else for two weeks.”

The E! News report went on to claim the MTV star had gotten into a fight with Evans after she returned home to get her belongings for school. As she attempted to leave, as per the arrest report, Evans claimed Griffith allegedly pinned her to a toilet and attempted to take her engagement ring off her finger, which resulted in a cut on Evans’ pinky. MTV star Griffith, however, told a different story, insisting he didn’t get physical with Evans at all.

In fact, according to MTV star Griffith, Evans has been physical with him in the past, and while he didn’t reveal details of prior fights to police, he reportedly showed them scars she’s left on his back.

The Horry County Police Department’s official statement regarding the issue, via E! News, was as follows.

“At about 4:15 p.m. today, Horry County Police Officers responded to a residence on Eagle Creek Drive, in the Myrtle Beach section of Horry County, for a domestic disturbance. This is the location where a television show called Teen Mom 2 is being filmed.

“Officers investigated and determined that an assault had taken place, as a result of an argument between two persons who were determined to be household members. Officers arrested one Nathan Griffith, 27 years of age, of Myrtle Beach, SC. He has been charged with one count of Criminal Domestic Violence and he is presently being held at the Horry County Detention Center.”
