Directors Behind Machete Movie Sued

“Machete” directors are being sued. An actress/director Yvonne Delaroisa filed a lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming that the two stole her ideas for the machete film.

In the lawsuit Delarosa says one of the directors, Ethan Maniquis, asked for her ideas back in 2005 for a movie which consisted of a man going on a killing spree with a machete, and then used her ideas without paying her.

According to the lawsuit, Yvonne shared her multilayered characters and storylines with the director only because she believed she was going to be compensated, but she never was and the movie was later released in 2010, containing a bunch of the same contributions that she shared with the director.

Yvonne is suing both director Ethan Maniquis and co-director Robert Rodriguez (Grindhouse & Sin City game), for breach of contract, seeking unspecified damages in the lawsuit. Although the director/actress doesn’t clearly state which ideas were hers, she’s still going forward with the lawsuit and hopes to get back what she rightfully deserves.
