Jaden Smith: A Mystic, A Prophet Or Just A Weird Kid Subject Of False Stories?

Jaden Smith has undoubtably had a sheltered and privileged upbringing as the son of Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith. Being the son of a famous actor and musician has arguably opened doors to Jaden that may not have been possible had he come from a less privileged background. Few children are afforded the opportunities that have been presented to 16-year-old Jaden.

Jaden has starred in movies alongside his famous father and both Jaden and 14-year-old sister Willow Smith already have an album under their belts. At a time when thousands of established artists are having to resort to crowd-funding projects to get an album released, having a father like Will Smith certainly does not hurt your career.

Jaden Smith has already established something of a reputation for creating controversy and Jaden has already given some pretty weird interviews. Against this background it is hardly surprising that several (admittedly questionable) outlets are reporting that Jaden Smith has given an interview to Rolling Stone in which it is claimed that Jaden reveals that he is launching a fashion label called “666” which is inspired by God. The stories also state that Jaden claims to be a prophet appointed by the angels.

Sadly for the many people who would love this story about Jaden Smith to be true it first emerged on the News Nerd, a well known satirical site that publishes fake news. The satirical story has been exposed as fake by Snopes. Of course while this story may well be satire the same cannot be said of the many odd interviews that Jaden and indeed Willow Smith have given to more reliable news sources.

In a recent interview with the New York Times Jaden Smith presented some very odd “facts” about time itself.

“It’s proven that how time moves for you depends on where you are in the universe. It’s relative to beings and other places. But on the level of being here on earth, if you are aware in a moment, one second can last a year. And if you are unaware, your whole childhood, your whole life can pass by in six seconds. But it’s also such a thing that you can get lost in.”

In the same interview Jaden also demonstrated his grasp on the concept of human biology when talking about a babies fontanelle.

“When babies are born, their soft spots bump: It has, like, a heartbeat in it. That’s because energy is coming through their body, up and down. It’s prana energy because they still breathe through their stomach. They remember. Babies remember.”

Perhaps it is time for Will Smith to sit Jaden down for that “birds and bees” chat that all fathers dread. While Jaden Smith continues to publicly express odd ideas he leaves himself open to ridicule and to being the subject of satirical stories.
