Did Kaitlyn Bristowe Just Confirm She’s The New ‘Bachelorette’?

As this season of The Bachelor comes to a close, there’s more than one question to be answered on next Monday’s finale. In addition to who gets a proposal from Iowa farmer Chris Soules, viewers are waiting to see who of Soules’ rejected contestants will be the next to hand out roses.

Kaitlyn Bristowe, who was sent home in third place behind Whitney Bischoff and Becca Tilley, is said to be in contention to be the next Bachelorette. The dance instructor from Vancouver might have dropped a very strong hint on her Twitter feed Wednesday, revealing she got the job. If it’s true, she will have beat out another fan favorite, Britt Nilsson.

Bristowe retweeted Jillian Harris, the former Bachelor and Bachelorette star who is now an interior designer and television host. The tweet included an Instagram snap of the two women and the caption “just a few things in common.” The most telling part of the tweet are the three symbols: a “victory” sign, two women holding hands, and a rose.

Whether the “victory” and “rose” symbols mean Kaitlyn is set to be the new Bachelorette isn’t clear. Even if Kaitlyn is not the Bachelorette, she and Jillian have a great deal in common. They both came in third on The Bachelor. They are both from Vancouver. They both have dark hair and blue eyes.

If indeed Kaitlyn is next to be greeting men emerging out of limos, she might not want to follow Jillian’s lead, at least not if she’s looking for long-lasting love. Harris was rejected by Bachelor Jason Mesnick in 2009 — Mesnick chose Melissa Rycroft, and Molly Malaney came in second. She then ultimately chose Ed Swiderski as the winner of The Bachelorette. Harris and Swiderski split in 2010 amid rumors of his infidelity.

Bachelor producer Mike Fleiss has remained mum on who will be the next Bachelorette, but he has kidded about the speculation on his twitter account.

Although Bachelor fans might already be looking forward to next season, there is still a finale and post-proposal special to air. On Monday night viewers will find out whether it’s Becca or Whitney who is invited to marry Chris and move to Iowa. The finale will be followed by the special After the Final Rose. In there somewhere, viewers can expect to hear the official announcement of the new Bachelorette.
