‘The Following’ Season 3 Spoilers: Are Mike And Max Getting Back Together?

The Following Season 3 premiere surprised many fans when they jumped an entire year in the future. Viewers found out that along with Ryan Hardy’s new romance with girlfriend, Gwen, Mike Weston and Max Hardy were also no longer together.

According to Hollywood Life, while Max may have moved on with a new hunky FBI agent, Tom, Mike is back in town and he is still obviously in love with Ryan’s gorgeous niece. The two eyed each other intensely throughout the entire premiere episode, and fans loved it.

In the first episode of the season, fans saw that right after Joe Carroll’s arrest Mike left Max and New York City to work in the field and track down Mark Gray, the only remaining member of the Gray family who killed Mike’s own family. Max begged Mike not to leave, but he did anyway, and that ended their relationship.

However, Mike is back in NYC now, and although Max is dating Tom, it seems that the connection between the former couple hasn’t died down, actor Shawn Ashmore reveals.

“Mike has to deal with he repercussions of his actions. He sees them all day at work. It’s hard for him, but he made that decision. He’s not pouting about it, he knows why Max moved on. He regrets that he made that decision but it’s a constant struggle for him emotionally: Should he give up this thing to be with the person he loves? He finds it very difficult to think about it.”

Actress Jessica Stroup revealed that she knows the fans want to see Max and Mike together, but they may have to wait.

“There’s this underlying frustration I think the audience feels, because they wants them to be together, and there’s this addition of Tom coming in and pulling them apart. I know as the season goes on it’s just going to make people want Max and Mike together even more!”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Max and Mike’s relationship drama isn’t the only thing viewers will be talking about during Season 3 of The Following. Although Joe Carroll is in prison and awaiting his execution, he will still be a big part of the new season, which is revamping the series.

According to TV Guide, the series is changing lanes a bit for this season, but will still have the same core drama, violence, and intensity that the episodes before have held viewers with.
