Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Battle Over Whitney Houston’s $20 Million Fortune Could Loom As Prognosis Looks Grim
Bobbi Kristina Brown is back in a medically induced coma after suffering violent seizures last week, and the grim situation is drawing attention to the $20 million fortune that Bobbi inherited from her mother, Whitney Houston.
Bobbi was the sole recipient of her mother’s lifetime earnings, but it is unclear what would happen to the estate if Bobbi should not pull through.
People magazine broke down what might happen to Whitney Houston’s fortune, noting that it could set up for a battle between her family and Nick Gordon, who Bobbi referred to as her “hubby” but never legally married.
“That estate is held in a trust administered by several family members – not including her father, Bobby Brown, who can make decisions about her health but is not an executor of the trust. If Bobbi Kristina were to die, her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, would likely receive nothing if there is no will naming him as a beneficiary.”
“The key players? Bobbi Kristina’s aunt and uncle, who are co-executors of their niece’s trust and would likely decide what happens to the money.”
There has already been some public bickering between Gordon and Brown’s family members, leading him to lash out last week on Twitter.

Sources close to the family said there was hope going into last week, when doctors decided to take Bobbi Kristina Brown out of her medically induced coma so they could better assess where she stood. But almost immediately she began suffering seizures, which crushed the family’s hopes that Bobbi may be getting better.
“This is a horrible setback,” a source told People.
“Everyone was hopeful that this was the sign that she’d turned the corner. We were so optimistic. Bobby is taking this so hard; he was sure this was going to be a good day. But please, everyone needs to pray for Krissi. I don’t care what religion you are, or if you have no religion at all. Send your thoughts, your prayers, your well-wishes. Send everything you’ve got. Please.”
Her father, Bobby Brown, was reportedly “beside himself” and went on to cancel a planned tour of Australia that was to start later in the month.
With the battle over Whitney Houston’s $20 million fortune possibly looming, the prognosis is unclear for Bobbi Kristina Brown. Sources say she has seen little change since first being put in a coma after she was found unresponsive in her bathtub.
