Should Baby North West Be Banned From Fashion Shows?

Is North West too young to be attending fashion shows with her super famous parents? Apparently, people actually have an opinion about this, and Kim Kardashian is hitting back at those who think the tiny tot should be banned from couture events. Hollywood Life reports that Mrs. West believes it’s discrimination to keep her child from going everywhere she wants to take her. Do you agree with her?

A source reportedly close to Kimye shared the mom-of-one’s opinions with HL, referring to the reality show star as a devoted mother from whom her daughter is inseparable.

“This is 2015 and Kim feels that Nori should be welcome anywhere in the world and if Nori’s not welcome, Kim’s not going.”

This quote appears to be true, since nearly every paparazzi shot of Kim since she gave birth shows her either carrying her daughter or pushing her around in a stroller. North West has lived a life as public as her parents, thanks to Kim’s apparent hands-on style of mothering. Nonetheless, the high society folks that attend fashion shows and other top notch venues don’t appear to want baby Norie to ruin their good times. In particular, Anna Wintour doesn’t want babies to go to fashion shows. Dlisted reports that she is doing what she can to have babies banned from New York Fashion Week — a direct burn after she sat right next to Kim and North during Kanye’s recent fashion event for Adidas.

Kim Kardashian thinks it’s discrimination to ban babies from fashion shows — especially her baby. The same source that spoke to Hollywood Life explained that nobody should be discriminated against at fashion shows, echoing Kim’s sentiment.

“Kim’s taking motherhood to an entirely different level. She wants folks to know that Nori is a person, a human being just like everyone else, and she shouldn’t be discriminated upon just because she’s a baby. Obviously, Kim would handle North crying or any situation that babies have. She has nannies on standby. She recognizes everyone has the right to enjoy the runway and so does Nori.”

Maybe the problem isn’t so much about her handling North West’s crying, but more about other people not being able to handle the crying. There’s also the concept that other people shouldn’t have to put up with children everywhere they go. High couture fashion shows are some of those places where you don’t traditionally find children, so why start now? On the other hand, it can be argued that Kim and Kanye are starting a parenting trend that puts the celebrity-nanny cliché to rest.
