For those folks who love pancakes and aren’t training for an upcoming NPC fitness competition in the bikini category, the announcement by IHOP saying they are giving away free pancakes on “National Pancake Day” on Tuesday probably sounds like a yummy deal. The IHOP eatery announced its plans to give away free pancakes on its website, with specifics about what pancake fans can actually expect to receive.
“Flip for free pancakes! Tuesday, March 3, 2015”
That’s the headline on the IHOP Pancake Day page on the official IHOP website, which details how the free pancakes are limited to one free short stack for each guest, and that only dine-in guests will receive the free pancakes — and only if their local IHOP restaurant is part of the promotion. So, giving a call to your local IHOP might be in order before you head out and expect free pancakes galore. Diners also can’t combine this free pancake deal with any other coupons or special discounts, so be warned. And tip well. The pancakes are free, not the waitstaff. (Okay, that’s a journalist’s addition on that last part.)
IHOP also goes on to explain that their pancake giveaway isn’t merely a good gesture to help their patrons pack on the pounds, but instead represents a way for them to bring a focus to giving to charities in their community, or to leave a donation for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, if they so choose.
“Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP restaurants have raised almost $16 million to support charities in the communities in which they operate. On March 3, 2015, guests from around the country will celebrate a ‘Decade of Giving’ with the tenth annual National Pancake Day at IHOP restaurants and enjoy a free short stack of Buttermilk pancakes. In return for the free pancakes, guests will be asked to consider leaving a donation for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals© or other designated local charities. Our Goal this year is $3.5 million for charity.”
MyFoxAtlanta also reports about the IHOP pancakes for free day, while sites like the Inquisitr are reporting about amazing weight loss success stories such as that of Mayra Rosales, a woman who lost 800 pounds and changed the way she thought about food after getting lap band surgery and undergoing a total of 11 surgeries in order to remove excess skin after her weight loss journey.
