Shaun White Ends X Games With Perfect Score [Video]

Shaun White became the first person in X Games history to score a perfect 100 on the snowboard half pipe. White’s perfect score came during his victory run as the iconic snowboarder had already clinched X Games Gold.

White could have crawled down the mountain on his belly during his final run and still taken home the Gold, but White decided to give the fans one last jaw dropping run. White said:

“It was bizarre — and my coach Bud Keene was saying ‘They’re going to give you a 100 if you make it.’ I’m thinking he was very excited. But I don’t know, I just came through it and everything felt perfect. I was landing the 10 at the top and the cab double came through perfect. I don’t know if I have ever landed my double Mc12 as clean as I have tonight, so that just set myself up perfect for the frontside double cork 12. I guess it’s the first (time) ever to do back-to-back double cork 12s. What a night.”

But White’s X Games didn’t all go perfectly. A fall in practice forced the snowboarder to drop out of the SNB Slopestyle competition. The fall also gave White a black eye and a scar on his chin.

Here’s the video of Shaun White’s perfect run.

Here’s an interview with White after the perfect run.

Shaun White earned his fifth consecutive X Games gold last night. Snowboardercross racer Nate Holland and snowmobile racer Tucker Hibbert are the only two athletes to take home five golds in a row.
