Bruce Jenner Caught Driving While Talking On A Cell Phone

Bruce Jenner isn’t off the hook for the multi-car accident that left a 69-year-old woman dead, and he apparently hasn’t learned his lesson yet.

According to celebrity news website TMZ, Jenner was spotted racing around Los Angeles in a Porsche while holding a cell phone up to his ear.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, law enforcement officials haven’t closed the investigation into the accident Jenner caused in early February. Despite the fact that the investigation hasn’t been closed, law enforcement sources have indicated that Bruce Jenner is unlikely to be charged with vehicular manslaughter.

Investigations at the scene of the accident proved that Jenner was neither speeding nor intoxicated at the time of the accident. Cell phone records proved that Jenner was not texting at the time of the accident. Photographers who witnessed the accident said they saw Jenner holding something when the crash occurred, but it turned out to be a cigarette. Driving while smoking isn’t illegal in the state of California.

However, driving while talking on a cell phone is illegal, and Bruce Jenner can’t afford to seem like an irresponsible driver right now. Especially since TMZ broke the news that video exists that proves Jenner’s inattentiveness while driving was almost certainly the sole cause of the fatal accident. That’s because, while Jenner may not face criminal charges, he could still be sued in civil court by the victim’s family.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Bruce Jenner only had $250,000 worth of insurance. Since Jenner was almost certainly at fault for the fatal accident, experts say it’s very likely the family of the victim, Kim Howe, may file suit against Jenner for wrongful death. In the jury rules in favor of Howe’s family, Jenner could lose millions.

It may be tempting to think that Jenner can afford to lose the money. After all, it’s estimated that he and former wife Kris Jenner were worth $125 million at the time of their divorce, but California is a community property state, which means that the fortune and all possessions the two amassed during the marriage have been split between them. With the addition of legal fees, a settlement or judgment against him could strike a huge financial blow to Jenner.

The trouble is, Bruce Jenner may not be able to afford such a huge financial loss. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, it’s unlikely that Bruce Jenner will continue to appear on the Kardashian-Jenner family’s series of reality shows, including the flagship show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Jenner is contractually obligated to appear in the upcoming 10th season of the series, but his departure means he isn’t part of the $100 million payday ex-wife Kris Jenner negotiated this month. It’s likely that Jenner expected the proceeds from an upcoming docu-series about his sexual reassignment surgery to tide him over, but that project has been postponed indefinitely following the fatal car accident.

At the moment, the only thing for certain is that Bruce Jenner is in for a rough few months, and these photographs won’t help his chances.
