Rumer Willis Makes Val Chmerkovskiy Wear Wacky Outfit During ‘DWTS’ Rehearsal [Video]
Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy are trying to get a head start on their Dancing with the Stars competition by using a tried and true method of winning the hearts of fans: Team ValenRue is already posing for adorable Instagram photos.
Rumer Willis recently shared the above shot of herself and Val looking cute and cuddly in animal onesies. In their first all-access Dancing with the Stars rehearsal video, Rumer explains that she’s dressed up like a fox because she and Val are practicing the fox trot. Val is dressed up like a lemur because he’s “springy,” but he’s not a big fan of the spirit animal Rumer chose for him.
Rumer Willis has nothing but nice things to say about Val Chmerkovskiy when they stop to take a selfie break.
“He’s very sweet,” Willis says as Chmerkovskiy smirks beside her. “He’s very nice. He works very hard, and I have a lot of respect for his integrity.”
“I wish you were not wearing that onesie when you were saying that,” Val responds. “It would feel so deep.”
As you can see, Willis and Chmerkovskiy’s first rehearsal goes pretty well, and they really seem to get along with each other. However, some Janelskiy fans are probably going to have a pretty hard time watching the pair together after doing so much heavy shipping last season. As the Inquisitr previously reported, many DWTS fans were convinced that Val Chmerkovskiy was dating his previous partner, Pretty Little Liars star Janel Parrish.
Interestingly, Janel and Rumer are pals who share a few connections. They have both appeared on Pretty Little Liars, they have both performed in For the Record live musical theater shows, and they both use aerial workouts to stay in shape. Rumer Willis is just hanging out during a workout in the photo below.
Perhaps Dancing with the Stars fans will get to see Rumer all wrapped up in pieces of fabric and swinging from the rafters during one of her performances — a cool gimmick like that could give Willis and Chmerkovskiy an edge over the couple that will probably prove to be their toughest competition, gymnast Nastia Liukin and her pro partner Derek Hough.
During a recent interview with Fox News, Rumer hinted that she might also use her superstar parents to drum up a few votes. The 26-year-old is the daughter of former couple Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Hollywood royalty whose numerous iconic films should provide Rumer and Val with plenty of dance theme fodder (think Ghost and Die Hard).
“They’re really excited and really supportive,” Willis said of her famous family. “My dad and my mom and my sisters were really excited for me and were asking me about rehearsals and I just told them how excited I was. It’s nice to have their support.”
The actress hopes that her busy parents will find the time to attend a few of her performances, and she revealed that her sisters will definitely be in the DWTS ballroom cheering her on.
“I’ve made it mandatory for them to come and watch!”
Of course, Rumer was asked about the possibility of another Chmerkovskiy showmance, and she made it clear that Team ValenRue is not going to go down that route this season. She just wants to have fun with Val, and she hopes that she and the DWTS pro will become good friends. Luckily, Val says that he’s “having a blast” with his new partner.
