Christina Aguilera Sings Etta James’ ‘At Last’ At Singer’s Funeral [Video]

Christina Aguilera paid her respects to the late Etta James this weekend by singing the singer’s famous song “At Last.”

Etta James died last week on January 20th after a long battle with leukemia. E! Online reports that the Grammy-winning singer is survived by her husband of 42 years, Artis Mills and their two sons.

Hundreds of people gathered to send Etta James off, including Stevie Wonder, who also performed during James’ funeral. and Reverend Al Sharpton, who read a message from President Obama. Sharpton said:

“Etta will be remembered for her legendary voice and her contributions to our nation’s musical heritage.”

Before belting out the soulful tune, Aguilera said:

“She was the one that cut right through my soul. So tonight, Etta, this song is for you.”

Here is Christina Aguilera’s version of “At Last.”

What did you think of Christina Aguilera’s performance? It isn’t often that you see a room full of mourning people give a standing ovation, but I’m guessing that Aguilera singing at a funeral is also a rare occurrence.
