WWE News: NXT Stars To Appear In Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal At ‘WrestleMania’?

WrestleMania 31 is swiftly approaching, and the WWE is gearing up for a star-studded event. Already confirmed is Sting vs. Triple H. Also, John Cena and Rusev will be involved in a gimmick match of some kind. WWE announced last night on WWE Smackdown that a multi-man ladder match for the Intercontinental championship is scheduled for WrestleMania. That brings us now to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

It is the second year for the battle royal, and a few names are already confirmed, one of them being the Miz. Since the multi-man ladder match is going to the WWE superstars, how is NXT going to be represented at WrestleMania?

According to Daily Wrestling News, there’s a chance the WWE fans might see NXT stars in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

“There had been rumors of a NXT ladder match at WrestleMania 31 but with WWE confirming the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal this week and announcing the Intercontinental Title Ladder Match, the NXT Ladder Match obviously won’t be happening. NXT’s involvement at WrestleMania was said to be a “wait and see” situation at last word. It’s possible that some NXT stars get put into the Andre Battle Royal.”

NXT stars that could be in the battle royal are Adrian Neville, Finn Balor or Kevin Owens (depending on who is NXT champion), Tyler Breeze, Hideo Itami, Baron Corbin, Kalisto, and Bull Dempsey. As for other NXT stars working WrestleMania, there’s a rumor floating around that Charlotte will team with Paige to face-off against Brie and Nikki Bella.

As for the multi-man ladder match for the Intercontinental championship, Sheamus’ return has been rumored for the last few weeks through vignettes. Another rumor is circulating the web about his return, and it might be at WrestleMania. Sheamus will most likely return as a monster heel because the WWE is short of big heels in today’s product.

Seth Rollins is the top heel in WWE right now, but he isn’t of massive build. The Big Show and Kane are not as talented as Sheamus in the ring and on the microphone. When Sheamus first came into the WWE, he was a monster heel that truly dominated the main event scene. Don’t forget, Sheamus also defeated John Cena for the WWE championship in a Tables match in his first year on WWE Raw.

Regardless of the cast, WrestleMania will be a phenomenal show. If NXT is represented somehow, then WWE fans who are geared towards the Indy scene will be more than satisfied. If any of the men that were noted above enter the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, they won’t win, but that’s more exposure for WWE’s developmental territory.
