‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Star NeNe Leakes Was Offered Her Own Show

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta’s NeNe Leakes was reportedly offered her own show.

During a February 26 interview with Buzzfeed, via Wetpaint Entertainment, Leakes opened up about her gig on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and revealed she’d been approached about doing a series of her own.

“There was no Love & Hip Hop, Hollywood Wives, or whatever. There were no African-American shows like that with ensembles. We just came on the scene and just did whatever. We had no handbook.”

Leakes has been an official housewife on The Real Housewives of Atlanta since the show began years ago, and has remained a fixture on the series in the years since. However, when it comes to stepping up her game and the drama of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Leakes isn’t willing to compromise her integrity for a paycheck.

“I honestly don’t feel like you need to stoop to the level of physically fighting on camera. For what? There is no check that’s big enough for that.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Leakes is considering leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta after the show’s seventh season. While she hasn’t officially made any decisions, a source told Radar Online that she “hates” The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and has been doing the bare minimum to promote the series’ currently-airing seventh season.

Also in her interview with Buzzfeed, Leakes revealed she was offered her own show, possibly a spinoff of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but didn’t want the pressure of carrying her own series.

“I’ve been offered my own show. [But] I don’t want the pressure.”

Leakes also revealed her thoughts on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8, explaining that while she may be ready to move on to different things, she doesn’t want to abandon the show which made her a household name, and fears it may not succeed once she leaves.

“I’m known from that show. I started there. I can’t say that I will remain full time all the time … I always want to see the show do well. So, in order for the show to do well, I feel like I can’t… I don’t want to abandon the show. When the time comes for me to totally step away, I’m sure I will.”
