Beyoncé Goes Without Bra: Is She Getting Desperate?
In 2013 and 2014, Beyoncé could do no wrong. She always had her haters, but Beyoncé had most consumers and critics singing her praises. However, Beyoncé is starting to show some cracks in her image, even if it isn’t all her fault. The Huffington Post wasn’t happy about Beyoncé pushing aside Ledisi for a Grammy performance of “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.”
“Beyoncé wanted to sing it, and we did not breathlessly await her performance as much as we were left to grudgingly endure it. There’s a larger issue at play than just the swapping of one great singer for another less talented but more popular one. Ledisi, with a crown of enviable braids and beautiful dark skin, was passed over by an artist whose nose job, ten pounds of blonde hair, and suspiciously alabaster skin has no doubt aided in her ascent to the top.”
Then came the untouched photos of Beyoncé from 2013, making Ms. Knowles look like a totally different person. In the pictures, you can see all of Bey’s pimples and blemishes in their full glory. Gawker described the significance of Beyoncé‘s leaked photos.
“Two hundred and twenty-four apparently unretouched photos of self-styled Queen Bey Beyoncé were leaked on a website called The Beyoncé World this morning, sending shockwaves across the one inhabited by all of us. They come from commercial and ad shoots for L’Oréal’s 2013 Feria and Infallible campaigns and should make you and Solange feel a little bit more secure about yourselves.”
Perhaps Beyoncé, wanting to take away all of the negative attention, decided that going out without a bra would be a great PR move. The Daily Mail describes Beyoncé‘s stunt.
“They have recently been hoping to purchase a new home, after perusing several million-dollar properties in Los Angeless. But it looks as though Beyoncé might want to add a bra to her shopping list, as she stepped out without one on Tuesday. The Naughty Girl singer wore a sexy unbuttoned blue shirt that was tied up, showing off her cleavage and carefully avoided a wardrobe malfunction.”
Needless to say, Beyoncé looks stunning, but perhaps that is the point. Beyoncé has always been about media manipulation and though her mega-stardom might be on a downward trend, she still has all of the tabloids writing about her, whether their stories are good or bad.
