Amanda Holden Sacks Aide In Fury Over Comments About Nine-Year-Old Daughter

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has reportedly sacked her closest aide in a fury over comments about her 9-year-old daughter Lexi. Ms Holden reacted in a fury after a photograph of Lexi, wearing a strapless red dress was posted on social media platform Twitter. The picture, captioned “1990s day at Lexi’s school today. Julia Roberts ‘Pretty Woman’,” was posted on Ms Holden’s official twitter account.

Sadly some of Holden’s followers were less than impressed that a 9-year-old child was being linked with Julia Roberts role in “Pretty Woman” and criticised Holden for dressing her child as a prostitute.

The Express reports that, according to the Sun, Holden “threw a massive strop” and sacked her aide of 20-years in a fit of fury over how the incident was handled. According to the Mail, 44-year-old Holden was concerned that comments made on her official Twitter account criticising the picture would be damaging to her career prospects as she is reportedly quitting Britain’s Got Talent and is looking for new opportunities.

When the picture was posted online, and Holden saw the fallout, she was allegedly in a fury about the comments, had the picture deleted and threatened legal action in an attempts to have the image erased from the internet. Holden was allegedly unhappy with the advice she received from her aide, and the way the situation was handled. This lead to a parting of the ways between Holden and her aide..

Holden later claimed that her husband thought that Lexi looked beautiful and as a “proud father” was trying to post the picture to his private Facebook account when he accidentally pressed the wrong button and posted to her official Twitter account instead.

Holden then issued a statement denying that she dressed her daughter as fictional prostitute “Vivien” and said that “the truth is that Lexi went to school as Cindy Crawford for her school ’90s Day, not Julia Roberts.” According to the Express, Holden said that it was “unbelievable and disturbing” that Twitter users should think she would dress her child as a prostitute, saying, “It seems completely unbelievable and disturbing that anyone could or would put such an interpretation on it.”

The picture of Lexi was removed from Twitter in under 10 minutes, but was reproduced in a number of national newspapers and online outlets. Holden threatened legal action for breach of copyright if outlets continued to use the image. According to the Express, a source told the Sun that Holden was concerned that the comments on her Twitter feed might damage her reputation at a time when she is in delicate negotiations over future television roles.

Holden denies that this is the case, and her spokesperson told the Mail, “This story is untrue.”

“Amanda’s Holden’s change in PR agencies has nothing to do with any fears over her career, but solely due to her being so devastated that a recent story involving her daughter went out of control and sick comments were being made towards her nine-year-old. She felt that the situation was underestimated and not properly handled resulting in Amanda having to take legal action to ensure her child’s safety.”

What do Inquisitr readers think? Should Holden have just put an explanatory comment on her Twitter feed or was her fury at the comments justified?
