‘Gossip Girl’ Cast Reunion At The Oscars: Who Did Not Share In The Moment?

There was a Gossip Girl cast reunion at the Oscars on Sunday night, and now fans of the former CW series are buzzing with excitement about the moment on social media. According to The Huffington Post, Chace Crawford, Jessica Szohr, Michelle Trachtenberg and Kelly Rutherford attended the 23rd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday night, and Rutherford decided to share a photo of the four of them together at the event on her Instagram.

Willa Holland, who currently stars on CW series, Arrow, also attended at the event, and she joined in on the Gossip Girl cast reunion. That moment was also caught on camera.

The actors were all smiles in both snapshots, but the Gossip Girl reunion was missing several of the main stars from the series. Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, and Penn Badgeley were not at the post-Oscar party on Sunday night.

Blake Lively has been busy since her time on The CW series ended. She married Ryan Reynolds, and she had a baby not too long ago. The actress showed off her post-baby figure when she attended the Marchesa Fall/Winter 2015 Runway Show last week in New York City.

Too Fab shared the details of Blake Lively’s outfit for the event.

“The blonde beauty looked stunning in her Marchesa bird-print A-line skirt and black halter-top. The “Gossip Girl” alum accessorized her chic ensemble with yellow Louboutin pumps, Lorraine Schwartz earrings and black bracelets.”

Blake sat in the front row with Anna Wintour, so she definitely showed off her looks at the event. Blake gave birth to her daughter with Ryan Reynolds just two months ago, and she is looking great.

Just Jared Jr. revealed that Leighton Meester was in New York City performing during the Academy Awards. Ed Westwick was in Los Angeles, but he did not attend the Oscars bash.

Even with most of the Gossip Girl cast missing at the reunion moment, many fans shared their excitement about the event on Twitter.

The reunion at the Oscars party is not all that had Gossip Girl fans buzzing lately. According to Hollywood Life, fans stirred things up on social media about the possibility of Kelly Rutherford dating her former co-star Matthew Settle in real life. The actors played Lily and Rufus on the series, and they did not have their happily ever after when the series ended.

However, they might have found love with each other in real life. Settle shared a photo of the pair together for Valentine’s Day. After fans caught wind of the possible love match, Lily and Rufus became a trending topic on Twitter.

Gossip Girl ended in 2012. For several seasons, it was a top series for the network, but the ratings started to dwindle. This prompted the cancellation of the series, but the network gave those involved a shortened sixth season to wrap up storylines.

Will fans ever see Chuck and Blair together again on the small screen? Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester both revealed in separate interviews that an on-air Gossip Girl reunion is not in the works. Ed revealed, “Everyone’s off doing their own thing.”

For now, fans will need to be content with moments like the one that happened at the Oscars on Sunday night.
