HTC One M9 Appeals To Samsung Galaxy S6 And iPhone 6 Lovers

This morning, leaked videos of the HTC One M9 appeared all over the Internet. Judging from the video and the reaction to it, the Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 may have some tough competition. HTC’s new smartphone seems to offer a combination of what people love on the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6.

James Peckman from Know Your Mobile describes what the HTC One M9 will be like.

“Leaked details suggest there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset inside made up of a 2GHz quad-core Cortex A57 running alongside a 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex A53 setup. All this will be joined by 3GB of RAM as well as Cat 6 LTE connectivity. BoomSound speakers will be returning alongside Android Lollipop and HTC’s Sense 7.”

One of the big-turnoffs of 2013’s HTC One M8 was that the smartphone only had a 4 “Ultrapixel” camera, which didn’t amount to much but blurry pictures. According to Phandroid, that will all change with the HTC One M9.

“The camera walkthrough shows off some new software enhancements coming with the new One M9. Notably, the camera has been bumped up to 20MP and features a new set of filters and overlays to customize photos. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but could come in handy for those who love posting selfies to social networks.”

There is no word yet on whether or not the new HTC One M9 can take 4K videos like Samsung’s latest smartphones can. However, since most people don’t have 4K displays yet, that shouldn’t be a huge issue. One thing the HTC One M9 has that other smartphones don’t is stereo speakers. Android Central describes what kind of amazing sound we can expect from the HTC One M9.

“From the video, it looks like the One M9 will have more powerful speakers, which is in line with what we’ve seen from HTC over the last two years. The manufacturer upgraded the speakers from the One M7 to the One M8, so it stands to reason that it is continuing to do the same with the latest iteration in the One series.”

The HTC One M9 will be fully unveiled on March 1 and should be available shortly after. Let’s hope that HTC can finally get their foot back in the smartphone sweepstakes. They have made great phones, but sell very few of them. Are you going to buy the HTC One M9? Tell us in the comments section.
