WWE Rumor: Despite Loss At WWE Fast Lane, Daniel Bryan May Not Be Out Of The WrestleMania 31 Main Event

Despite how unbelievable it might be, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan not be out of the hunt for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Thus, he may still be in the WrestleMania 31 match. How is this? Apparently, there was an issue during the match that caused many to wonder why the referee did not count. Since the match ended with Roman Reigns coming out on top, this very picture has been making rounds on the Internet with the hashtag or caption “Bryan Got Screwed.”

As you can see from the picture below, Daniel Bryan clearly has his legs over Roman Reigns. Both men’s shoulders are down, but because Bryan is technically on the top he is supposed to have a pin counted for him. This was not a split second shot either, as the ref counted past three as he was counting the men out. They both rose up like there was no issue but seemingly everyone who saw it was asking why WWE didn’t have a pin occur there.

Bryan clearly won if we counted the pin. Reigns may have kicked out before the count of three, but it was uncertain. The ref didn’t bother to count, clearly missing the boat on the rules that have been in place for some time. WWE has used this angle before with submissions such as the figure four. Men would lay down to console themselves during the pain and a ref would count for the pin the moment the shoulders hit. So how is this any different?

Reigns Bryan WWEFL

The fact remains that this will lead to some issues. That is why the internet is up in arms today. Many people already didn’t want to see Roman Reigns win last night, mainly because while Daniel Bryan may not be the most deserving, he at least gives us a main event worthy match. Roman Reigns’ best match as a singles performer was last night at WWE Fast Lane. Thanks to Daniel Bryan, he looked good.

The issue is, Bryan had to make that happen.

While Brock Lesnar is fun to watch due to his power as an athlete, many speculate how well he can perform. A match against Reigns is not going to be fun to watch as both are not gifted at performing. Every match the two have had as single performers were against other gifted performers. Brock has faced the likes of CM Punk, Triple H, and The Undertaker. Three of the top wrestlers in history.

You have Reigns who worked matches against Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Daniel Bryan.

Reigns cannot lead a match well at this point, as he is very new to the singles scene. Brock has never really been able to carry matches either. So how is a match between two men who cannot work well alone going to work?

Bryan Yes Lock

This was why the triple threat match involving Daniel Bryan was thought about. It would allow both men to shine due to Bryan helping to lead the match and both Reigns and Lesnar would come off looking great. Plus, Reigns could still win and you’d be able to make it look like he deserved the win after such a match.

This is why the rumor of the unnoticed pin last night has gotten even more traction. People know Reigns is still very green and that Lesnar is by no means able to lead up matches well enough. That is why both men work with guys who can. Yes, we easily could see a lot of stiff, hard hitting material. Both men are able to do this, however where does all that go?

It is rumored that WWE potentially planned this spot to bring it up as a reason to add someone to the title picture if need be. However, it is still pretty much set that we’ll see Reigns/Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Title in the main event of WrestleMania 31. Bryan could take on Dolph Ziggler at the event as that match no longer seems to be dead at this present moment.

Do not be surprised if there is an angle written in at WWE RAW for the unnoticed pin. It has gotten to be such a big story online that WWE may very well have to address it. What is interesting is at this very time last year, WWE was forced to add Daniel Bryan into the WrestleMania main event plans. That may very well do that again this year if the unnoticed pin was potentially planned all along.
