Kanye West Is Making A Video Game Based On ‘Only One’ Single

Kanye West is making a video game based off his own song, “Only One.” Power 105.1‘s morning show, The Breakfast Club, had West on as a guest covering topics from his Adidas fashion line, his new album and his wife Kim Kardashian. At the end of the interview West dropped a tidbit of information that made more than a few gamer’s heads tilt to the side: he was working on a video game based on his single, “Only One.”

The hour-long interview had a plethora of information that one would expect from a celebrity interview but the odd tidbit came from his video game project. The video game would be based on a song called “Only One” which imagines a conversation between Kanye West’s daughter, North, and his late mother who passed away in 2007.

The video game based on “Only One” has apparently been in development for close to six months according to West.

“The idea is that it’s my mother going through the gates of heaven,” he said, “and you’ve got to bring her to the highest gate of heaven by holding her to the light.”

No official date has been set for the release of the game, nor was any information given on its current status. While it is curious how a game could be based off a conversation between West’s late mother and his daughter, it is not surprising given the high degree of success seen from his wife’s mobile game. Kim Kardashian: Hollywood has grossed over $85 million back in July according to the Inquisitr and was on track to hit a projected $200 million.

Kanye West was also the star of a fan-made game titled Kanye Quest 3030. The game features West, who gets sucked into the future via a wormhole while battling evil clones of other recording artists such as Nas and Jay-Z.

This discussion on the video game begins at the 56-minute mark of the video.
