Megan Connors: Math Teacher Arrested For Having Sex With Student In Classroom During School Hours

Megan Connors, a teacher in Florida, is in trouble for allegedly teaching her kids more than math.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Connors, a 30-year old Math teacher in Plant City, Florida, has been arrested for having sex with one of her students during class hours on campus. Law enforcement officials say the child is a 15-year-old student at Turkey Creek Middle school, where Megan Connors is also a teacher.

The case record shows that Megan Connors had sex with the underage student multiple times, all while classes were taking place. Police explained that Connors would pull the boy out of his classes so that he could meet with her in an empty classroom where they would engage in sexual activity.

The relationship between the child and the teacher began in January but started off as fondling and kissing, later progressing to actual intercourse. Fellow teachers and students began suspecting that something inappropriate was happening between the two. Megan Connors was actually pulled out of the classroom just days before she was arrested.

There is no indication of whether Connors had sex with other students. Authorities have charged her with lewd conduct, lascivious battery, and sexual battery. Megan Connors currently sits in the county jail without bond.

Records show that the Turkey Creek Middle School teacher had been working at the school since August. She is expected to be fired and may have her teaching certificate revoked.

The Hillsborough County School District expressed their disappointment that a teacher in their district would engage in such wrongdoing. They shared the following statement with the press on Friday, according to 10 News.

“We removed her from the classroom as soon as we suspected an inappropriate relationship. She will be terminated. Because she is a relatively new employee (hired in July), the termination will not be complicated. We will report the case to the state so they can take action against her teaching certificate.() We’re disappointed. We have so many teachers who are doing a great job. This teacher had nothing in her background that indicated any problems. It’s shocking and disappointing.”

Community members are also sharing their reactions as news of this disturbing case spreads.
